Samsung Galaxy M30s Review: There is fierce competition in the mid-range segment. Rs. 30,000, there is a cut-throat competition between the very value for money instruments. Most mid-range devices come with clich selling points like processors and cameras. But in that race, Samsung came up with something extraordinary on the M30s. With a 6000 mAh battery, the Galaxy M30S gives a permanent battery life. But what else is there to it? We are going to explain it in our review of Samsung Galaxy M30s.

So, before I received this phone, I expected it to be very heavy and not used as a phone with a large battery, but that’s not the case. It really isn’t too heavy and has a good grip on the curved sides. And although it is made of plastic, it is not cheap.
There may be things to complain about, in my opinion the completely nonsense colors and the way these triple cameras are attached, this is definitely a little off.
Looks like Samsung is trying to copy the iPhone or Google Pixel 4. Also, since the plastic is behind it and the frame is not metal, durability is a concern in the long run. Therefore, I advise you to take up this matter. – Samsung Galaxy M30s Review
Continuing with the design, you’ll get a single firing speaker at the bottom, which by the way looks pretty average. But after leaving the Galaxy M40, Samsung brought back the 3.5mm headphone jack. So audiophiles are big here.
The M30s also have a fast finger print sensor. Since I previously used the Samsung J-Series to slow down the sensor, the fastest fingerprint sensor on the M30s is a welcome addition. There is also a very reliable software based face unlock which is very accurate and fast. – Samsung Galaxy M30s Review
On the front side, you are getting other midrange phones in 2019. The 6.4-inch FullHD display with a thin bezel, a small U-shaped stripe at the top, and a thick bezel at the bottom. – Samsung Galaxy M30s Review
However, unlike other mid-rangers, Samsung uses the Super AMOLED display instead of the IPS panel. That means you get better quality than IPS. Color, contrast and brightness levels are good in terms of price.
Presentation and Software
Now, talking about the phone’s interior, you get the Exynos 9611 chipset running the display. It comes in 2 memory variants, one with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, the other with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
4GB, 64GB is clearly a good value for money if you ask me, so I advise you to go with it. – Samsung Galaxy M30s Review
Now, speaking of the Exynos 9611 chipset, it is based on the 10Nm build and strangely no improvement over its predecessor, the 9610, except it supports high-megapixel cameras. – Samsung Galaxy M30s Review
The Exynos 9611 is more and better on the mid-range chipset. The show is good, but I’m not terrific. After using the Note 8 Pro and Reality 5 Pro, I’m sure it won’t be that easy.
One explanation of how heavy the OneUI (based on Android Pie) is. On the expensive Note 10, the UI acts like a winner. The transformation and opening of default apps like the phone dialer is also smooth, but with the M30s, a slight lag is indicated.
You may not notice it, but after reviewing and testing all the phones, I can say with certainty that this is not a very streamlined phone.
The surprising thing is that the Exynos 9611 can handle such changes, so Samsung is working to optimize the UI even on its budget and mid-range phones.
Despite all this, the One UI is still my favorite skin. Everything from the multi-tasking tray to the notification panel to the settings dashboard feels minimalistic and modern. I also turn on Night Mode because it saves the battery, but I like it.
Speaking of gaming performance, the Mali G72 MP2 GPU Average, PUB runs HD graphics and high frame rates by default, but I had to reduce the graphics or frame rate for a stator-free experience. – Samsung Galaxy M30s Review
The recently launched Call of Duty is also stuttering and lagging in medium settings and can only be played in low settings. Also, after 30 minutes of PUBG and COD, I noticed some heating issues behind the device.
So, the M30s are not the best performing phone at this price, especially when it comes to gaming. For gaming, I would recommend more efficient phones like the Samsung Galaxy M40, Redmi Note 7 Pro, or last year’s flagship killer Poco F1. If you can wait, the Redmi Note 8 Pro is another good option because it comes with an improved MediaTek G90T gaming chipset. The phone is expected to launch in November.
The Galaxy M30s is Samsung’s first mid-range smartphone with 48 MP triple cameras. The 48MP primary camera is an internal ISOCELL Bright GM2 sensor that connects to the accustomed 8MP ultraviolet 12mm lens and 5MP depth sensor.
Honestly, I was skeptical about the cameras at first because the Galaxy M10 and M20 I reviewed had very average cameras, but the M30 had “very good” cameras, and I would rate them as B +. – Samsung Galaxy M30s Review
The camera shoots at 12MP by default, however, you can change it to 48MP mode by going to the camera settings. It takes 2 seconds to capture 48MP images and is more detailed compared to 12MP mode, but consumes up to 5 times more storage, and there is no noticeable difference.
Now, the default 12MP shots, when you see them with an AMOLED display, look more saturated, but it’s much more natural when you look at a color-perfect screen. The pictures have good colors, the details are good and the dynamic range is not bad either.
Wide angle pictures also share the same story. It has good colors and is essentially as natural as the primary images. It loses detail if you zoom in, but expect it for 8MP wide angle shots. – Samsung Galaxy M30s Review
The 5MP depth sensor also works well when it comes to portraits. I have ruined the way this expensive phone works in portrait, so I’m satisfied with its portrait.
When it comes to low-light display, the level of detail is low and the images aren’t worth it, but it is expected on a midrange phone. Samsung also has Night Mode, but it doesn’t work very well.
This can confuse exposure and overload the images. If you have some shame in taking Night Mode shots on your hands, your pictures may look blurry. So, in my opinion, Samsung needs to work again to improve Night Mode through software updates.
On the other hand, selfies with the 16MP front camera are also very good. If you are at the right distance with enough brightness, you get some wide shots with good colors and dynamic range. Selfie portraits also work well, and I’m happy with the software-based blur.
For video recording, the M30s records 1080P and 4K videos at 30fps and surprisingly both have no 60fps. 1080p videos are consistent with perfect color display, excellent contrast and dynamic range. If you want more details, you can shoot in 4K but there is no stabilization. – Samsung Galaxy M30s Review
You can also use ultra-wide-angle lenses at 1080p for video. There is also the Super Stable mode, which is a truncated version of ultra-wide video, but stable. There are usually 240fps Slow-Mo and 960fps Super Slow-Mo options, which work fine.
So, to see how good the cameras are on the M30s, I compared it to the Redmi Note 8 Pro. In fact, in many respects, two phones do the same thing. The main difference in the regular images is that while both have the cool tone of the M30, the Note 8 Pro is somewhat warm. And the color tones are usually based on people’s choice, so I score both.
But I have noticed one thing that the colors of the M30 are as good as they come in the sky. For portraits, in some cases, the M30s work well, at other times the Note 8 Pro steals the display. Selfie, on the other hand, looks good on the Note 8 Pro. The night photos are bad enough, as I mentioned earlier M30s.
Now, before I talk about the battery. Let us summarize our review: Design and Build is like 7/10, Performance 9 is 9, Performance Average is at 7 and I want to give 8/10 to cameras. It sounds like a totally fine score to me, but Batteryne stole the show.
The 6000 mAh battery is solid for me. It has 2 days of moderate use and if you are a huge user of games, and a huge user of watching videos, it will still give you a day’s use. – Samsung Galaxy M30s Review
The 15W Fast Charger inside the box charges the battery from 0 to 100% in 2 hours and 20 minutes.
